In the METAR project, Fraunhofer FOKUS supports the BMW Group by assisting them with different work packages and groups of the AUTOSAR development partnership. Scientists from Fraunhofer FOKUS work on the development of AUTOSAR interchange formats and the configuration of AUTOSAR basis software modules.
Within the AUTOSAR partnership, on behalf of the BMW Group Fraunhofer FOKUS assumes responsibility for the AUTOSAR System Template, the AUTOSAR ECU Configuration specification, and the AUTOSAR Ecuc Parameter XML File. One emphasis of the work is placed on harmonizing ASAM FIBEX and AUTOSAR. Fraunhofer FOKUS furthermore develops new AUTOSAR concepts in cooperation with BMW, and imports these concepts into the standard. In addition, Fraunhofer FOKUS supports the BMW Group with the introduction of the AUTOSAR methodology and AUTOSAR interchange formats, such as the introduction of the AUTOSAR exports for CAN, FlexRay and Ethernet.
