Green Streaming: With the increasing availability of video streaming services, energy efficiency and sustainability are becoming more crucial in the production, distribution, and playback of digital media throughout the entire value chain. Green Streaming provides a more energy efficient video streaming and lays the foundation for a sustainable streaming ecosystem. We will showcase latest results and introduce a green streaming measurement framework as well as our FAMIUM GreenView library for HbbTV and CTV.

FAMIUM ABR Testbeds: The FAMIUM ABR Testbed is an innovative platform revolutionizing Adaptive Bitrate (ABR) testing for DASH and HLS media players. Key features include seamless automated testing with diverse bandwidth trajectories, unparalleled evaluation of ABR behavior, efficient virtualized deployment for optimized resource use, streaming analytics through FAMIUM SAND, and a distinct focus on green streaming with energy measurements.

Streaming analytics and live QoE: FAMIUM SAND is a streaming analytics solution that collects and analyzes streaming metrics to provide in-depth video client session data and streaming performance information like average throughput, buffer level, representation switch events and initial playout delay (QoE metrics defined in ISO/IEC 23009-1) to help deeply understand streaming problems and client behavior to allow optimization of video workflows.

Metaverse Testbed & Framework: The FAMIUM Metaverse framework enables rendering compute-intensive 3D applications made with popular graphics engines on remote servers separate from the display device. The solution is independent from cloud service providers and can thus be run on any public or private cloud or edge infrastructure. The framework supports a wide variety of display devices, such as personal computers, VR glasses, smartphones, televisions, and stereoscopic 3D displays, and their varying input modalities. This compatibility is achieved by streaming rendered views to the display devices using standardized video codecs.
The FAMIUM Metaverse framework is integrated into the 1ClickMetaverse Testbed, allowing the evaluation of remotely rendered 3D applications under varying network conditions (e.g. WiFi, 5G, LTE) and configurations (e.g. differing video and audio codecs) via programmatically captured QoS and observed QoE metrics.
