    The 6G-TakeOff project is working on an uniform 3D communications network, in which flying network nodes provide functionalities together with terrestrial network components dynamically and according to demand.   • ALADIN

    Advanced Low Altitude Data Information System

    The ALADIN project aims to ensure safer forest firefighting in the future employing demand-oriented 5G networking of emergency forces and response resources. As a first step, a nomadic, i.e. local and temporary, network is being set up at the Schönhagen airfield in Brandenburg. The network will then be used as a basis for controlling unmanned response equipment and monitoring and securing the site of operations.

    With the SENTINEL lighthouse project, the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is launching a lead project to develop key technologies for the upcoming 6G mobile communications standard. The focus is on terahertz technologies and solutions for flexible networks. Fraunhofer FOKUS, as well as four other Fraunhofer institutes, are involved in SENTINEL.

    The 6G-Sandbox project aims to provide an open pan-European test environment for 6G experimentation and validation of 5G-Advanced and 6G capabilities. Companies and organizations can conduct trials on four experimental platforms. Fraunhofer FOKUS is part of the project and provides a test environment in Berlin.

    In the Open6GHub, an organic 6G core network is being researched and developed, in which the highest requirements for reliability and flexibility in particular are taken into account. FOKUS is one of the project partners and involved in designing the essential components for an organic, distributed 6G core network and integrating them into the emerging test environments.
