Dipl.-Inform. Daniel Faust is deputy head of the Electronic Safety and Security Systems for the Public and Industries business unit (ESPRI) at the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems FOKUS. He received his diploma in computer science from the Technical University of Magdeburg, where he specialized in software development, computer networks and operating systems.
He has been working as a researcher at Fraunhofer since 1994, mainly in the areas of software development, distributed systems and location-based services. His other research interests include the information logistics of early warning systems and their benefits for the networking of existing security solutions. With his extensive experience in project management, he is responsible for the supervision of trainees at Fraunhofer FOKUS.
In addition to his activities in research and management, he also teaches “Distributed Systems” at the University of Applied Sciences Berlin.
